In short: impact windows in Cape Coral typically cost $800–$2,000 each installed for standard sizes, $1,500–$3,500 for large picture and specialty windows and $15,000–$35,000 for every window on an average single-story house. Impact sliders run $3,000–$11,000 depending on width, and shutters $5–$60 per square foot by type. These are estimates; the written quote after we measure is the real price.
Every price on one page
The tables cover windows, doors and shutters. Each figure is installed: removal of the old unit, the new product, anchoring and sealing, a permit allowance and haul-away. They were reviewed on October 8, 2026 from Florida installer pricing and national cost guides; no Cape Coral or Lee County price survey exists, so treat them as Florida figures.

What moves the price on a Cape Coral house
- Opening size. Impact glass is priced largely by area, and big lanai sliders and picture windows cost several times a bedroom window.
- Design pressure. Openings near the corners of the house, on the top floor or facing open water need units rated for higher pressures, which cost more.
- Frame material and color. Aluminum or vinyl, white or bronze or black; dark frames and custom colors add cost and lead time.
- Glass package. Low-E coatings, tint, obscure glass for bathrooms and insulated laminated glass all add to the base price.
- The opening itself. Rotted wood bucks, damaged block or stucco, or an opening that needs resizing adds labor.
- Season. Demand jumps after every storm and in early summer, and lead times and prices follow.
Not included unless listed
So nothing appears later as a surprise: interior and exterior painting after stucco repair, window treatments that have to come down and go back up, security system sensors on the old windows, garage doors, and screen enclosure work. Any of these can be added to the quote if you want them.
Price per square foot
Installed impact windows commonly work out at about $55 to $100 per square foot of opening. A standard 36 by 62 inch bedroom window is about 15.5 square feet, which puts it near $850 to $1,550 on area alone, but a per-opening minimum for labor and permitting lifts small windows above that. Very large fixed glass falls toward the bottom of the range per square foot. Use the figure to compare quotes, not to calculate your own price.
Why local quotes disagree
Three Cape Coral quotes for the same house can be thousands of dollars apart, and none of them has to be dishonest. One may be for a premium aluminum line sized to the highest pressure on the house for every opening; another for a vinyl product with each window rated to its actual position; a third may leave out the permit, stucco repair or disposal. Before comparing totals, check that each quote names the product and its Florida Product Approval number for every opening, shows the design pressure, lists the permit, removal and haul-away as lines, and gives a realistic lead time. Ask what happens to the deposit if the factory is late.
Insurance credits and grants
Florida law requires insurers to offer discounts for wind mitigation features, and opening protection is one of them. The credit depends on your carrier and on every glazed opening being protected, so a wind mitigation inspection after the work is how you claim it. The state's My Safe Florida Home program has also offered matching grants for impact windows and doors in funded years. We do not price around either; your quote is the same whether or not you claim.
Price questions
Why do impact window quotes in Cape Coral vary so much?
Because they rarely price the same thing. Brand and frame material, glass options, whether the permit, stucco repair and disposal are included, and the design pressure each opening was sized for all move the total. Ask every company for a per-opening list with the product approval numbers, then compare line by line.
Is the permit included in your prices?
The ranges on this page include an allowance for permitting. On your written quote the permit appears as its own line, so you can see exactly what the city charges.
Are there grants that help pay for impact windows?
Florida's My Safe Florida Home program has offered free wind mitigation inspections and matching grants for opening protection, but funding comes in rounds and has run out quickly. Check its current status before you plan around it.
Is it cheaper to do the whole house at once?
Usually, per opening. One permit, one delivery, one setup and one inspection are spread over more windows. It is also the only way to get the full opening protection credit on a wind mitigation report.
