Who we are: Cape Coral Hurricane Windows measures, permits and installs hurricane impact windows, impact doors and storm shutters for homes in Cape Coral and the towns around it. Openings are the only thing we work on, and the Cape is where we work.

Why openings, and only openings

Ask around any Cape Coral street that went through Hurricane Ian and you will hear about quotes that could not be compared: one listed brand names and nothing else, one bundled the permit and one left it out, one promised an install date the factory could not meet. A good impact window is a well-understood product. What varies from company to company is the measuring, the paperwork and the care taken at the opening. Keeping our work to windows, doors and shutters is how we keep those three things consistent.

What a Cape Coral house asks of a window

Most homes in the city are concrete block on a slab, built in waves from the late 1960s onward. That history shows up at every measure:

  • Original aluminum single-pane windows. Plenty of 1970s and 1980s houses still have them, with corroded frames on the side that faces the water and weep holes long since blocked.
  • Openings that are not quite square. Block openings were not built to a factory tolerance. We measure each one three ways before anything is ordered, because an impact unit is made to size and cannot be trimmed on site.
  • Big glass at the back. Pool homes put most of their glass on the lanai side: wide sliders, corner pockets and picture windows that carry the highest wind loads on the house.
  • Salt. Homes on Gulf-access canals in the south Cape sit in salt air every day. Frame finishes, fastener coatings and hardware are chosen with that in mind.

Our part, and the factory's part

We do not build windows. Manufacturers do, and the good ones test each design for the Florida Product Approval it carries. Our side of the job is everything around the unit: picking a product whose approved design pressure fits your opening, ordering it to the right size, removing the old window without wrecking the stucco, anchoring the new one exactly as its approval document specifies, sealing it against water, and getting the city to sign it off. Most failures we see in older installs trace back to that second half, not to the glass.

Paperwork you keep

When the permit closes you get a folder you can hand to an insurer or a future buyer: the product approval numbers for every unit, the permit number and inspection result, and a list of which openings were protected and how. That last part matters for the opening protection section of a wind mitigation inspection, which looks at every glazed opening, the garage door included.

Where we go

Every street in Cape Coral, from the older canal neighborhoods south of Cape Coral Parkway to the newer streets off Burnt Store Road. Across the river we work in Fort Myers and North Fort Myers, and west over the Matlacha bridge onto Pine Island. Our Florida contractor license is SCC131153254, and you can look it up by name or number at myfloridalicense.com.

Promises we can actually keep

  • A written quote for every opening, with the product, its approval number, the permit and disposal listed separately.
  • No storm-deadline pressure. If the factory cannot deliver before peak season, we tell you, and we talk through shutters as a stopgap.
  • No deposit taken on work the city has not permitted yet without saying so in writing.
  • The same person answers your questions from the measure to the final inspection.
  • We leave the house cleaner than we found it, old windows and packaging included.

Next steps

For prices before anything else, the Cape Coral impact window price guide sets out what we charge for. If shutters are on your mind, read the hurricane shutters page; for big lanai openings, see impact doors. Or call (239) 397-4541 and tell us how many openings you have.

Working out of the Cape since 2008

We set up in Cape Coral in 2008 and have stayed here through every storm season since, Ian included. The owner holds the Florida window and door installation license in his own name, so the person accountable on the permit is the same person running the job. Impact units are the bulk of the work, though we still fit non-impact replacements where an opening is already covered by shutters, and we go anywhere in Lee County, not just the Cape.

Questions people ask about us

Do you sell one window brand?

No. We quote Florida Product Approved impact windows and doors from established manufacturers and pick the line that suits the opening, the frame material you want and the lead time. The approval number for each product goes on your quote.

Will you install windows I bought myself?

Usually not. The permit ties the product approval to the installation method, and we can only stand behind an install when we know how the unit was specified, built and delivered.

Do you work on condos?

Yes, in low-rise buildings where the association lets owners replace their own windows and sliders. Bring the association's window rules to the measure; most specify a frame color and sometimes a product line.
